It consists of a single volume complete with exercises, a glossary, online audio and videos, and covers the beginners' levels A1 and A2 of the CEFR. In addition to basic language and structures, the book also presents more complex aspects of the Italian language essential to the study of opera such as the past historic tense and specialized vocabulary to do with the world of music, opera and theatre.
Starting from the most famous arias (from Il barbiere di Siviglia, Turandot, La traviata, etc.) and from dialogues between the characters of the Rossini family, students will learn simultaneously the Italian language of melodrama and that of everyday life. In addition to classic language exercises to help students develop the four key skills and to learn vocabulary and grammar, great importance is given to phonetics and the use of the body.
