Designed for adolescent and adult learners, this course is available in 3 levels, from A1 (beginner) to B1 (intermediate) of the Common European Framework. The main principle behind this course is to make the experience of learning Italian relaxed, enjoyable, and at the same time efficient. It therefore adopts an active approach with tasks that require student collaboration, interaction and practice of a variety of skills in order to facilitate gradual progression.
Emphasis is placed on developing the four major linguistic skills but also on learning how to learn, a skill which goes beyond the realm of languages alone. Students can reflect on different learning styles and develop an understanding of what works best for them in order to maximise their progress.
Authentic scenarios and visual stimuli introduce the language and culture of Italy. Teaching objectives are clearly presented at the start of each unit allowing students to measure evaluate their skills.
The student's books comprise: exercise chapters, revision units, clear grammar charts, and sections dedicated to phonetic practice. Audio tracks and supplementary resources such as audio transcripts and glossaries are provided. A book of supplementary exercises is also available for each level, in addition to an extra workbook dedicated to listening practice and comprehension (levels A1-B1).
