Authors: Patrizia Flammini Tania Pasqualini
This two-volume course is specifically designed for migrants and foreign workers living in Italy. It covers levels A1-A2 of the Common European Framework and is intended for teacher-led classes of Italian. Each volume comprises student's book and workbook and includes an audio CD and final test.
The materials are focused on everyday language with practical "how-to" topics including: completing registration forms and giving information about yourself, orientating yourself in the town (directions, public transport and services) and the office work place (signs, form-filling etc.).
Images help to introduce vocabulary and to contextualize the arguments and exercises presented. The course is clearly structured in 3 modules (Communication, Daily Life, Rights and Responsibilities) that are each divided into 4 units dealing with the personal, professional, educational and public domains.
An additonal phonetic booklet is available separately. This is designed to aid students who may be illiterate or who are unconfident reading and writing in their mother-tongue. The booklet consists of 5 parts: the alphabet, the sounds, the numbers and basic arithmetic, signs and signals, and a self-assessment section.
