Invito a teatro

'Invito a teatro' is an innovative text for learning Italian purely through the use of plays. It is comprised of two parts: the first has several extracts from Italian plays for puppets and marionettes. Examples include, Gianduja and l'Opera dei pupi. The second part uses extracts from the work of Goldoni, Verga, Praga, Pirandello and De Filippo. A variety of activities lead from these texts, including comprehension, writing, speaking and vocabulary exercises, the answers to which can be found at the back of the book. To aid and encourage students to reflect on linguistic diversity, there are notes and a glossary which explain words and expressions in dialect.
