Customer Service Assistant
We have an immediate vacancy in our Customer Services team in Cheltenham.
Our mission as booksellers is to promote European Languages and Literatures, so knowledge of one or more European languages will be an advantage and will make the job much more interesting.
The core task is processing daily orders and inquiries coming to us via our websites, by email or by phone.We use an older but efficient custom-built IT system which is updated regularly to respond better to customers' needs.
The essential requirements we are looking for are:
A team player;
Familiarity with all the usual PC programs: Word, Excel, Adobe Reader etc;
Willingness to learn, and in due course help us to improve, our sales management system (manpac);
Good English, a customer-friendly manner and and a generally positive outlook.
Apart from the core task, we are always looking for other skills and experience that can benefit our mission and make the job more interesting.
The starting salary is £21,000 per year
Our working week is 37.5 hours excluding lunch hours, worked between Monday and Friday and between 8:30 and 18:30. Our contract provides for all working time to be in the office. We are reviewing the question of home-working but cannot guarantee that it will be allowed for this job.
